Friends From Far Away

Club Business

This meeting was very active.  We had 12 people in attendance!  Jeff Selker was kind enough to come down, he brought his wife and out of town friend from Germany, Klaus.  We announced it was time for club dues and Brad collected them from several members.  Robert gave a progress report on our website.

Show and Tell

Rex’s GT-40

A splendid GT-40 that he made 20 years ago and it is an accurate representation of the real Gulf GT-40 in dark blue.

Rex’s TINY GT-40

A tiny 1/147 or 1/87? scale GT-40 model.  The tires look like airbrush O-rings.

Donnie’s NASCAR Thunderbird

Donnie finished it and managed to tackle the myriad of decals on it.  It is a Bill Elliot car.

Danny’s Christmas Present

A gift to himself, it is a classic Lotus F1 car from Tamiya.  It is a very detailed kit with Photo Etch, seat belts and some extras he is adding.  He seems to be pulling all the stops on this one.

Robert’s Hot Rod Ornithopter

It is a kit bash of 2 AH-64 helicopters.  Painted with Tamiya silver covered by Tamiya clear green and red.  Everything was thinned with Mr. Color thinner.

Klaus’ slAmbulance

It is an old dodge ambulance that he channeled the body on to give it an in the weeds look.

Klaus’ Volkswagen Hearse

Complete with Porsche engine swap and suspension components.  A dead body wrapped in chains and tied to a cinder block (you read that right).  It took him a year to do the Volkswagen as part of a group build.

Richie’s Impala

Great progress on this red rag top.

Richie’s (Now Kervin’s) El Camino

Richie gifted a lowrider El Camino to Kervin.  Christmas lives on after the first of the year.
