Club Business

Eight of us were at the August 12 meeting, Robert reached out to Flight 19 regarding the Make ‘n Take and is waiting to hear back. Jeff Selker donated a 1/12 Tamiya Williams Renault F-1 Kit to the club for a future group build. It’s a beautiful kit, Jeff may have some photo-etch for the car that he will get to us. Legend of the Quarter Mile them is due in a bit less than a month, come on break open the plastic wrap on that kit and get started! Also put your thinking hats on and ponder a new subject for the next common club build.

Show and Tell – IMAGES OPEN IN NEW TAB

Brad brought in a couple of theme builds for the upcoming Flight 19 show, A mustang and a ’65 El Camino with a Camaro front bumper assembly, both suitably weathered in a Mad Max effect. Both were creatively built with a lot of scratch built highlights. Also displayed was brad’s blue fingernail painted Chevelle that is now solidly silver and object lesson when using fingernail polish to paint model cars.

Ed dragged out an old former contestant from our Snap Kit contest theme, a Revell Concept Camaro in tangerine & cream with ghost flame highlights.

Kervin showed off a gift build for his Brother, a MPC ’79 Monte Carlo Lo Rider, nicely built. A stunning WIP, a ’68 Impala in Strawberry Lemonade Paint. Kervin wasn’t happy with the engine positioning in the chassis, however once the car is completed it won’t be a big issue. (Flight 19 Model Fest proved this CORRECT) Looking forward to seeing it done.

Tommy put a Model King Monte Carlo modified short track car on the table, it was in a Goodwrench livery and looked like it could fire up and enter the race, nice job Tommy.
