Club Business
Our April 30 meeting which was a make up meeting for the April 23 canceled meeting had seven of us for the Common Group Build of a Foreign Car. We had good participation from the club. We now have to decide on a new theme.
Show and Tell
Rex’s Grabber Green Pantera
Rex had two cars, both Panteras, the first by a company in Japan, the GTS was done in a competition grabber green.
Rex’s Pantera Race Car
The second, a race car by Arri, was painted in a color shift paint and had body flairs, both vintage kits well done. It’s nice to see these vintage kits built.
Danny’s Supra Celica
Danny had a MPC Toyota Supra built box stock with beautiful red paint and many well done features, wired & detailed engine compartment, interior brushed highlights and a weathered undercarriage, Danny worked around many building issues to complete a spectacular model.
Danny’s Supra Celica
Danny’s model was so nice, it was awarded the President’s Choice trophy. A first for the club!
Ed’s Austin Healey
Ed built a Gunze Austin Healy Bug Eyed Sprite out of the box, a simple curbside but well molded kit, Ed persevered scratch building an up top and side curtains for the little car.
Ed’s Austin Healey
Mind you, this is a convertible kit with out the top. Ed fabricated it from scratch, using masking tape and a little know how.
Robert’s Supra Celica
Robert built his favorite model company’s Toyota Supra. He added a 3D printed turbo engine that was squeezed into the engine bay,
Robert’s Supra Celica
This was built as the wide body version with grafted side vents, painted with Tamiya gunmetal with a smoke top coat, featuring a Dead Pool graphic scheme, nicely finished, overcoming various build problems to make a nice model.
Brad’s Prelude
Brad showed a Fujimi Honda prelude tribute build that he once owned, built box stock, deep metallic gold, with tinted windows, nicely done.
Brad’s 240 Z
He also built a Revell 240 Z in bright yellow with black interior with a nitrous bottle, it was a one week box stock build, good work.
