We canceled our meeting for October 8 due to the threat of Hurricane Milton. Our Oct. 22 meeting brought out seven of us for the big reveal of the group truck build that everyone had two extra weeks to complete due to the canceled meeting. Brad brought in a lighted photo booth that Robert used to photograph the trucks. The pictures are posted on the website and are to be voted on by viewers to determine a people’s choice winner. This online format is a prototype for a possible virtual model car contest in the future. What does everyone think of a online contest? Richie has been in the hospital, hopefully he is home and making a complete recovery. Get well Richie.

Brad had two Ken Willaman models that were unfinished when they were given to him, a Revell ‘49 orange Merc and a Revell blue‘41 Chevy pick up. Ken would have approved.

Brad’s truck builds are a Lindberg “T”, weathered with two superchargers on an extended frame sitting on stock car tires, second up is a Revell Cyclone mini truck finished in black with a hood that actually closes on the stuffed engine bay, lastly a Revell short bed 4×4 Chevy built as a desert racer, including a resin engine with nicely done speed equipment painted in Brad Black, nice job on the three trucks !

Ed brought in a ‘50 COE cabover resin body build using an AMT ‘50 Chevy for donor parts. Ed couldn’t decide on a pick up or a flat bed so he did both. The model is finished in maroon with a base coat clear coat system. The build drove Ed into modeling intervention therapy.

Donny showed two entries, a Revell Foose ‘56 Ford, nicely detailed in metallic blue and an Italeri Scania Cabover show truck with extensive decal work, impressive wheels on this build.

Robert displayed a Tom Daniels Vette Again featuring Tamiya clear red over a gold leaf base paint. Robert’s truck build was the new AMT Bronco that he cut the roof off. It’s called the A!A Bronco with a cooler hanging off the back with a couple of scale figures too, it’s a cleanly built model.

Thanks to all who participated in the current group build, what’s next ?
