Club Business

Eight intrepid souls battled monsoon like rains to attend our club meeting on June 11. Robert & Danny were able to get nine club tables from Mark Moorhead along with the club’s make ‘n take kits. Anyone with some extra storage space will help the club by taking a couple of tables which Robert is graciously storing at his facility at the present time.

Show and Tell

Ed’s ’55 Gasser

Ed began with his Kit Bashed prototypical 60’s style ‘55 Ghevy gasser, weathered blue finish with many scratch built features.

With the front cowl removed, all of Ed’s detail work around the engine is easy to see.

With more scratch built details underneath, Ed’s Gasser is a beautiful example of this hobby.

Marco’s Cobra Daytona

This transmission is so detailed, it requires “bolts” for its parts.

Rex’s Mach WON!

Rex returned from the Ford Carlisle event in Pa. with a limited edition Ford Mustany Funny Car and an attractive Book on the history of Mustang Funny Cars. Also the new re release of the Mach Won Funny car kit featuring a stock mustang body which is somewhat inappropriate for a funny car.

Rex’s Resin Wheels

Canuck resin wheels & tires.

Rex’s Hot Wheels

Rex detailed a Hot Wheels Mustang convert.

Brad’s C3 Corvette

Brad displayed a 1/32 scale Corvette build

Brad’s T Based Truck

The first completed truck for the common build theme, a “T” based truck.

Brad’s T Based Truck

Excellent weathering and some magic on the chrome details, make this “Rat Truck” stand out.

Alan’s S’Cool Bus

The front end is from the AMT 37 Chevy Coupe and the bus part of it comes from the Monogram S’Cool Bus Drag Machine, took out 2 and 7 eights inches out of the length, and narrowed it from 3 inches wide to 2 and a half inches at front and 2 and five eights in the rear.

Alan’s S’Cool Bus

The chassis is in part all 37 Chevy except it was lengthened and the wheel tubs were made out of medicine bottles and the flooring was all made from scratch to replicate the shape of the bus.

The inside floor is diamond plate. Made the tube for the chute cable along the inside of the bus with a hand pull at the end next to the drivers seat.

The Private Derby

Robert & Brad had a private one month demolition derby build challenge. Brad had a beat up ‘57 Chebby that looked like it had a lot of laps at Hialeah on it, faithfully scraped, dented and bashed ,painted in an angry bumble bee livery. Robert had a big boat ‘62 Buick that borrowed from the movie “Used Cars”. Chains held things together and a clever campaign sign on the roof added to the charm of this build. Great imaginations on both of these projects.
